The Chase Family Christmas Newsletter - 2000

Merry Christmas to everyone from all of us!!  The year has been eventful as always. First the sad news.  We lost our uncle Tony in California.  He was a great person and I will truly miss our e-mail correspondence.  Josh was put down and the house is just not the same.  However, we have a new dog (one of those "she adopted us" kinda things) and everyone is getting bigger and better at all they do.  Can't wait to see what next year brings.  How are all of you????

Katherine is in first grade now.  Her grades range from excellent to magnificent!  She goes to Highland Dancing classes once a week (once in a while :)  She still likes to draw, draw, draw!! She runs like a bullet and finally has teeth growing in the front of her mouth :)
Emily is in Fourth grade now and is our still our Honor Roll girl... good conduct, good grades... almost too good to be true.  Emily is still horse crazy.  Emily has done a good job of taking care of last year's Christmas present (the aquarium) with help from big brother.  Emily had her first dance competition in Salado and had a great time!
Nicholas is in sixth grade and his hands and feet are now bigger than mine!!!  He played soccer for the West University this year and had an interesting season!!!  His grades are ..eh...well, it's the Christmas season :)  He took fencing this summer and is a natural!!
Christopher is in Eleventh grade and is still the starting goalie position on the varsity soccer team. His club team won the South Texas Championship.  With so much soccer (and computer games of course) what time could possibly be left for school work.  I keep mentioning trade school, but he figures there is a pro goalie contract out there somewhere :)
Valerie1099.jpg (42604 bytes) Valerie is still working for St. Thomas' and is becoming a wizard on the computer!!  She is even more tolerant of the kids and I playing in the evenings... She has yet to brave any of our RPG games though... No time for soccer during the school year, but she vows to get back to it this summer!
I am working dayshift, where life is supposed to have slowed down... I don't know where I went wrong.  One dog shooting, and several other "live at five" worthy events have put me on a first name basis with many of the news types around here.... not that I am complaining though.  I am not going on the bike ride this year, so must find some manner of exercise inspiration.
Yup--Josh snores like a freight train! This couch is his favorite. Unfortunately, this is the last news of Josh.  We had to put him down this year due to the recurrence of his cancer.  However, we had a great time with him and will always have our great Josh stories!!!

We have a new muttsky dog, Dymphna... more on her later.... I am late for work

Hopefully, we will get a chance to see some of you this year.  If not... please keep in touch and let us know how it goes.  Seeya!!!
